Sineng Electric Secures DNV Witnessing for Next-Gen Grid-Forming Solution with Enhanced Hybrid Technology – EQ
Sineng Electric has achieved a key international milestone for its next-Gen grid-forming solution with enhanced hybrid technology, following the issuance of a witnessed test report by internationally renowned independent energy expert and assurance provider, Det Norske Veritas (DNV). The report confirms the successful station-level witnessing of the solution, reinforcing its technical reliability and suitability for large-scale deployment.
The witnessed tests were conducted in July at the 100MW/200MWh Guanshan energy storage power station in China, with DNV’s Asia-Pacific Energy Storage Team present throughout the testing process. The project was implemented in close cooperation with the project owner and the Hunan Electric Test Research Institute Co., Ltd., completing nine major categories of grid-forming function tests—covering hundreds of operating scenarios—within just one week, all successfully conducted in a single run under the full-time witness of DNV.
With the completion of this assessment, Sineng has established a comprehensive grid-forming qualification pathway spanning R&D testing, grid-connection simulation, equipment-level certification, station-level demonstration, and international witnessing. The company’s grid-forming solution has now been recognized by multiple authoritative institutions, including China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI), China Quality Certification Centre (CQC), and DNV, supporting its leadership across both domestic and international evaluation frameworks.
