Sony surprises everyone with an electric concept car

Sony has caught the audience attention at CES 2020 by introducing an off-beat gadget. The electronics gadget maker has surprised the audience by introducing an electric concept sedan called Sony Vision-S.

The Japanese tech firm is known for a range of different technologies, right from entertainment products to camera sensors and more. Sony has put the best of all technologies in the Vision-S. The electric car comes with 33 different sensors, multiple widescreen displays, 360-degree audio, and an always-on connectivity option. The gadget maker is putting some pieces from industry players like BlackBerry and Bosch. The car is powered by a newly designed EV platform, which is engineered by automotive supply Magna.

Sony surprised anyone during its keynote event at the CES. In the middle of the presentation, Sony’s CEO Kenichiro Yoshida unveiled Sony’s electric concept car. The car was driven onto the stage during the keynote. Sony has worked with companies including Bosch, Blackberry, Nvidia, and Qualcomm for the development of this car.

The 33 sensors integrated with the car are designed to alert the driver of hazards on the roads using the lane departure warning system (LDWS). The sensors can also detect if the driver is fatigued. With the help of all these sensors, Sony might even think of making the car autonomous.

Sony’s newly designed EV platform can also power other types of vehicles including SUVs. The company has smartly designed the Vision-S. The interior features a dashboard-panning screen, while the exterior resembles to Porsche.

It is unclear whereat Sony will put this prototype into production anytime soon. The concept car certainly hints at the future of EVs. Apart from the Vision-S, Sony also unveiled the new logo for PlayStation 5.
