Georgian Solar Company LLC (hereinafter the “Company”), a special purpose vehicle (SPV) established in Georgia is currently considering a possibility of using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) for the financing of the development, construction and operation of Udabno solar power plant in the Sagarejo municipality of the Kakheti region in Georgia. The Company is fully owned by JSC Georgian Energy Development Fund (“GEDF”, or the “Sponsor”), a state-owned company established by the Government of Georgia.

Total installed capacity of the solar power plant will be 5 MW and the expected annual generation is about 6.9 GWh at P50 scenario. The total estimated cost of the Project is about USD 6.0 Mln. Once completed it will become the first solar power plant in Georgia.

The proposed project will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:

Supply and Installation of PV Models;
Civil and Electrical Works
Tendering for the above Contracts is expected to commence during Q2- Q3 2017.

Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank’s Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank’s loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser’s country.
