Both Projects are with Schools Where UGE will Develop, Build, and Finance

New York, New York : UGE International Ltd. (TSXV: UGE) (OTCQB: UGEIF) (the “Company” or “UGE”), a leader in commercial and community solar energy solutions, announces that it has signed agreements with two schools in Maine to develop, build, and finance rooftop solar projects that will provide the schools with cleaner more affordable energy.

The two projects are expected to have rated peak capacity of 1.0MW and 0.7MW. Collectively, the projects add US$2.4 million to the Company’s project backlog.

“Maine represents a new and growing market for UGE; one that offers opportunity through its recent virtual net metering regulations, facilitating community solar projects,” said UGE CEO Nick Blitterswyk. “We have already begun the design and submitted for utility interconnection approval, and we anticipate completing the development and installation of the projects over the next 12 months.”

UGE has a long history of providing solar for schools, having built upwards of 50 school projects to date, across the US, Canada, and the Philippines. Solar provides an excellent opportunity for schools to leverage their typically flat, empty rooftops to host solar systems and lower their operating expenditures, while using them as an educational tool as well.

Maine has become an important market for UGE over the past year. UGE expects to continue to see success in this new market, and as such has opened an office in Central Maine, led by Tyler Adkins, who formerly built the Company’s successful Philippines business.
