Vietnam’s Ha Do Group inaugurates 50-MWp solar farm in Ninh Thuan
October 26 : Vietnamese real estate and energy projects developer Ha Do Group on Saturday inaugurated its 50-MWp Ha Do Ninh Phuoc solar farm in Ninh Thuan province.
The plant was connected to the grid on September 1 and reached commercial operation date on September 4, 2020, the group said.
Located in the communes of Phuoc Thai and Phuoc Vinh, the solar farm stretches over an area of 58.7 hectares (145.1 acres). The Ha Do Group equipped the plant with solar trackers supplied by German firm Ideematec, modules from SunPower Corp (NASDAQ:SPWR) and a 22-kV smart substation system.
The company said it had invested VND 1.079 trillion (USD 46.5m/EUR 39.4m) in the project.
Ha Do Ninh Phuoc is expected to generate about 92 million kWh of power each year.
The Ha Do Ninh Phuoc inauguration follows a recent event which saw Trungnam Group unveil its 450-MW solar farm — also Vietnam’s largest — in the coastal province of Ninh Thuan. Along with the plant, Trungnam’s complex included a power transmission system, constructed to help the grid achieve stability amid strong solar build out in Ninh Thuan and Bin Thuan provinces.
