Detroit: GlobalAutoIndustry.com’s latest Audio Interview “Electric Vehicles and U.S. State Governments: A
State by State Comparison” features Shruti Vaidyanathan. Ms. Vaidyanathan is transportation program director, ACEEE (American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy), and oversees research on vehicle efficiency and system-wide transportation efficiency.

She has 10 years’ experience in transportation efficiency issues and her work has most recently focused on passenger and freight mobility best practices at the state and local levels and the role of emerging mobility options and autonomous vehicles in sustainable urban transportation systems.

In the 10-minute Audio Interview, Ms. Vaidyanathan discusses these questions:
 Please tell me about who ACEEE is and why you decided to write this report?
 And what were the main trends you found across the country?
 I’d like to get a bit more specific on the kinds of policies that you scored these states on. How did you pick them, and, what
makes you confident those policies are making a difference in getting more people and businesses to choose electric
vehicles?
 I want to end by looking forward. There’s a lot of excitement about electric vehicles, with some states even talking about
requiring all new cars to be electric by 2035. Where do you see this going?
