The Indian RE sector has witnessed a significantly upward growth trajectory, led by rapid capacity deployment and drastic tariff reduction over the past decade. The increasing RE penetration in the energy mix, coupled with Government of India’s ambitious targets towards a net-zero future, present newer challenges and opportunities to devise innovative solutions to increase dependency on RE power.

The recently awarded projects, introducing the “Round-the-Clock” and “Peak Power” supply from RE sources, highlight the Buying Entities’ increasing focus on enhancing firmness and despatchability of RE power, combined with Energy Storage Systems.

Fueled by a highly enthusiastic response from Developers and Buyers alike, Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) is interested in exploring various options and models, including, but not limited to 100% RE supply on RTC basis, combining RE sources with other sources and storage for firm and flexible power supply, etc. While the discussions are in progress with interested Buying Entities, a consultation with Project developers and investors is also necessary, to devise comprehensively formulated products.

In view of the above, SECI hereby invites interested Project Developers and investors to participate in a stakeholder consultation on various innovative models for supply of Despatchable and RTC Power from RE sources. Details of the meeting are as follows:
