Japan’s Ichigo brings online 2.8-MW PV plant in Ibaraki

January 12 : Japanese real estate investor Ichigo Inc (TYO:2337) announced today it has started commercial operation of a 2.84-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Ibaraki prefecture.

Named Ichigo Toride Shimotakai Nishi ECO Power Plant, the PV facility is comprised of 7,808 panels. It is expected to generate over 3.22 million kWh per year, enough to meet the annual power demand of 1,070 local homes, the firm said.

Located on 27,694 sq m (298,095 sq ft) of land in Toride city, the facility is Ichigo’s 51th operational solar plant in Japan. With this new addition, the firm’s portfolio reaches 150.02 MW.

Overall, the group has a Japanese portfolio of 67 solar power plants with a combined capacity of 199 MW, including projects in development, operational plants and facilities held by its yieldco Ichigo Green Infrastructure Fund Investment Corp (TYO:9282).
