Renewable energy firm Inox Renewables Ltd, a part of the Inox Group, is selling its operating wind power farms to Leap Green Energy Pvt. Ltd, a renewable energy firm majority owned by JPMorgan Asset Management.

Gujarat Flourochemicals and Inox Renewables were advised by Khaitan & Co through a team led by Partners Bharat Anand and Joyjyoti Misra, Principal Associate Arjun Rajgopal, Senior Associate Rohit Ambast and Associate Bharat Gupta along with tax advisory from Executive Director Daksha Baxi and Principal Associate Ritu Shaktawat.

Leap Green Energy and its subsidiaries were advised by MD&T Partners. The team was led by Partner PM Thimmaiah along with Senior Associate Bharat Unnithan and Associate Rajiv Naresh.

For Leap Green, the deal will help it increase its operating capacity to 762 MW across four states, making it one of the largest independent power producers in the wind energy sector. It plans to have a total operating capacity of 2,000 MW by 2019, reported VCCircle.
