Mahindra has launched the XUV400 EV for Rs 15.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom, India). These introductory prices are applicable for the first 5,000 units for each variant. The SUV was unveiled in September last year and is the first electric product from the brand. Mahindra will open bookings on January 26, with deliveries slated to begin in March.

Bookings for the electric SUV will open on Janaury 26 and deliveries are slated to begin from March. Here is a detailed break-up of the prices of the Mahindra XUV400 EV:

Mahindra XUV400 EV: powertrain, range, and charging

Mahindra XUV400 comes with two battery packs – 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh – and both power the front axle-mounted electric motor that produces 150hp and 310Nm of torque. The company claims the XUV400 can sprint from 0-100kph in 8.3 seconds, and will go on to achieve a top speed of 150kph. The XUV400 also features three driving modes – Fun, Fast and Fearless – that adjust the steering and throttle response along with the level of regenerative braking.

The XUV400 with the 34.5kWh battery has a claimed range of 375km, while the one with the 39.4kWh battery has a range of 456km on a single charge as per the Indian driving cycle (MIDC). It can be charged from 0-80 percent within 50 minutes, using a 50kW DC fast charger. Additionally, the electric SUV can also be charged from 0-100 percent using a 7.2kW in 6 hours 30 minutes or with a 3.3kW AC charger in 13 hours.

Mahindra XUV400 EV: variants and features

Mahindra offers the XUV400 in three variants – EC (3.3kW), EC (7.2kW) and EL (7.2kW). The top-spec version gets features like a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Mahindra’s AdrenoX software, a single-pane sunroof and connected car technology with over-the-air (OTA) updates. It gets up to six airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, an IP67 rating for the battery pack and ISOFIX anchorages as safety kit.

Mahindra XUV400 EV: rivals

The XUV400 competes with the Tata Nexon EV that is priced between Rs 14.99 lakh-19.84 lakh. It will also compete with the MG ZS EV, prices for which range from Rs 22.98 lakh-26.90 lakh. It will also rival the Hyundai Kona Electric which is priced at Rs 23.84 lakh. All prices ex-showroom, India.
