MSU offers programme on ‘renewable energy management and auditing’

Students who get admitted in this programme will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 1,000 for a year

The Manonmaniam Sundaranar University has introduced one-year programme on ‘Postgraduate diploma in renewable energy management and auditing’ with a monthly stipend of Rs. 1,000 from this academic year onwards.

According to Registrar, MSU, S. Santhosh Baboo, the MSU has decided to offer this course since the energy sector in the country has become a rapidly growing field.

It was also capable of offering lucrative employment opportunities in both government and private sectors.

Moreover, this field also offers self-employment opportunities to budding entrepreneurs who can enter solar, wind, biogas energy sectors with financial lending from nationalised banks and other government agencies, the Regisrar pointed out.

Candidates who have passed B.Sc. (with Physics, Applied Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics as major and these subjects as ancillary) or B.Sc. (Electronic Science, Electronics and Communication) BE / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering or Chemical Engineering with Mathematics as one of the subjects are eligible to join the programme.

“Students who get admitted in this programme will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 1,000 for a period of one year,” said K. Baskar, Vice-Chancellor, MSU.

Aspiring candidates should submit their filled-in application on or before June 29 and get more information from T. R. Rajasekaran, Head, Department of Renewable Energy Science, MSU, through 94423 27921, Dr. Baboo said.
