LONDON: * SSE Renewables has been given consent by the Scottish government to extend its Gordonbush onshore wind farm in Sutherland, it said on Wednesday.
* The 70 megawatt wind farm has 35 turbines and planning consent has been granted for an additional 11 turbines to be built.
* Planning permission was revised to 11 turbines from 15 in 2017 as the turbines will be taller as technology has advanced.
* “SSE Renewables will now consider the options for a route to market for the project – including the viability of building the project subsidy-free – ahead of taking a final investment decision,” the company said in a statement.
