The Central government has been taking several initiatives to promote renewable energy, said Ashvini Kumar, Managing Director, Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd while urging students to take up live projects which make use of renewable energy resources. Participating in the XII graduation day of Prathyusha Engineering College near here, he said that the government had been inviting various research project proposals in renewable energy.
G Giridhar, director and head, Solar Radiation Resource Assessment, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, shared his experiences in solar energy assessment and forecasting with the graduands. P M Beulah Devamalar, the college principal, highlighted the infrastructural enhancements to motivate students. An alumni meet was also held on the occasion.
