Sun Tribe Solar is helping Virginia’s independent schools go solar.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – Sun Tribe Solar, a leading Virginia-based solar energy company, announced today that their team will be working with the Virginia Association of Independent Schools to bring solar solutions to its members. The partnership will mean special offers for VAIS member schools to incorporate solar into their sustainability portfolios and into their classrooms.

The Virginia Association of Independent Schools is a non-profit membership association, comprised of 95 accredited and candidate schools. VAIS performs a variety of services for its members, including safeguarding the interests of these schools in matters of legislation and regulation, and also acting as an accrediting organization for independent schools in Virginia. Sponsor relationships, such as the one with Sun Tribe Solar, offer the member schools resources for services, as well as help to underwrite VAIS professional development programs.

Sun Tribe Solar has developed a special solar solution offer for members of VAIS, which includes a solar energy workshop for teachers to incorporate renewable energy into their curriculum. The workshop provides lesson plans and activities which allow students to understand how the solar array on their school is providing energy and the ways it is helping the environment.

“We are so pleased to begin our partnership with Sun Tribe Solar and are encouraged by the potential impact the company will have on our environment through working with our schools,” said Betsy Hunroe, Executive Director of VAIS. “This will be yet another example of how VAIS connects, collaborates, and leads!”

“One of Sun Tribe Solar’s goals is to continually find ways to move renewable energy forward in Virginia,” said Devin Welch, partner at Sun Tribe Solar. “Working with schools gives us the unique ability to not only add more solar into the Virginia landscape, but to also educate future generations on the importance of renewables and reducing our carbon footprint. We look forward to working with the member schools and the great team at VAIS.”

Sun Tribe Solar plans to hold informational webinars for VAIS members and will also be attending the VAIS Heads of School Conference in January. Please visit https://www.suntribesolar.com/vais for more information on the partnership.
