Tata Motors signs MoU with Wise Travel India for supply of Tigor EVs

ata Motors today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with car rental services provider Wise Travel India for deployment of Tigor EVs in the latter’s fleet in New Delhi. The announcement comes a couple of days after the homegrown auto major had partnered with Atal Indore City Transport Service to introduce 50 Tigor EVs in the city.

A team from Tata Motors also handed over the first batch of Tigor EVs to Wise Travel India officials at Concorde Motors located in the Lajpat Nagar area of New Delhi.

“We are delighted to partner with Wise Travel India on their pragmatic initiative of inducting zero-emission vehicles in their fleet. Tigor EV (electric vehicle), recently awarded as the ‘Electric Car of the Year’ by Assocham India, will join Wise Travel India’s existing fleet of cars. Tata Motors will continue to work towards bringing aspirational e-mobility solutions for customers, leading the drive towards faster adoption of electric vehicles in the country,” Tata Motors Electric Mobility Business and Corporate Strategy President Shailesh Chandra said in a statement.

“Our business is based on our deep understanding of the opportunity in various people transportation verticals and customers’ expectations from such services. We are committed to support our client’s objective of providing world-class services. The inherent benefits of zero emission and lower operating costs of EVs will help us fulfil the aspirations of our customers economically and sustainably,” said Ashok Vashist, CEO, Wise Travel India.

Tata Motors is playing a leading role in driving electric mobility in the country and has been working on various electric and hybrid vehicle solutions. Last month, the homegrown auto major had announced that it will supply a total of 80 electric buses to the West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC). The order is part of the 255 e-buses to be furnished to six state transport undertakings in the country. Apart from WBTC, Tata Motors has tenders to supply electric buses to Lucknow City Transport Service, Atal Indore City Transport Service, Assam State Transport Corporation, Jammu & Kashmir Road Transport Corporation and Jaipur City Transport Services.
