ENGIE, through its subsidiaries ENGIE Green, La Compagnie du Vent, CNR and Solairedirect, ENGIE has won bidding organized by the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) for 10 photovoltaic projects representing 78 MW of installed capacity. With these additional projects, ENGIE is consolidating its leading position in photovoltaics in France with, at the end of 2016, an installed or construction capacity of 522 MW. ENGIE, and all of its subsidiaries, thus further contributes to the development of renewable energies and a dedicated industrial sector which creates activities and jobs in France. The selected projects have all been developed in consultation with local stakeholders and will make a priority use of local providers.

These successes of ENGIE in a particularly competitive national bidding, with an average price for large solar photovoltaic power plants of €62.5 per MWh, reflect the quality of its submissions and its competitiveness in solar photovoltaic technology and, more broadly, in renewable energy. Already leader in the solar, ENGIE is also the onshore wind power leader in France, with an installed capacity of 1, 730 MW, and second in hydraulic power with 3,824 MW of installed capacity at 31 December 2016. As France prepares to triple its solar capacity by 2023, ENGIE wants to accelerate and improve its market share with a target of reaching 2.2 GW by 2021.
