October 20: Japanese real estate and renewables investor Ichigo Inc (TYO:2337) today started commercial operation of its 1.45-MW solar farm in Aichi prefecture.

The solar farm, full name Ichigo Seto Jokojicho ECO Power Plant, is formed by arrays of 4,220 panels. It occupies an area of 25,801 square metres (277,720 sq ft) in Seto City.

The plant is expected to generate about 1.785 million kWh per year, or enough to supply 496 households with electricity, the company said.

Seto Jokojicho is Ichigo’s 50th solar farm in operation. With it, the company reached 147.17 MW of operational solar capacity, including plants owned by its solar yieldco Ichigo Green (TYO:9282).

Ichigo plans to add around 52 MW more in the 2021-2022 period.
