New Record of Solar Cell Power Generation – EQ Mag

Berlin: Solar energy is considered one of the cheapest sources of renewable energy and this source of energy is of utmost importance to fight the climate crisis.Recently, researchers have set a new record for efficiency of solar cells. Solar cell efficiency is the amount of energy a solar cell produces using sunlight. Technological innovation in the last decade has dramatically increased this solar cell capacity.

But now the breakthrough is being seen as a major step towards clean energy. Researchers at the Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin (HZB) used a unique cell technology to generate electricity using 32.5 percent of solar radiation. Professor Steve “This is a major development that we could do without seeing until a few months ago,” said Albrecht. “All the teams at HZB worked together and achieved success.
