Economic tariff provided by SECI makes RE accessible to everyone

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) claimed to have made renewable energy easily accessible to everyone with its economic tariffs. In a tweet shared on the official account of SECI, the company stated, “RE power being supplied by SECI to different Distribution Companies at economic tariffs are truly making RE the ‘Power for All’.”

This measure was taken as an effort by SECI to enhance India’s Clean Energy transition and boost the carbon-neutral economy. The PSAs will have the capacity to provide almost 19 billion units of renewable energy every year. The energy supplied will make thousands of consumers a part of the RE consumption chain by providing access to eight states or union territories for 25 years.

This will result in an increase of about 95% from the previous years (2020-21). Implying that it will increase aggregate PSA signed capacity to about 30 GW.

During the FY 2021-22 (Financial Year 2021-22), till 31st October, SECI has signed Power Sale Agreements (PSAs) for the supply of RE of 5280 MW capacity. SECI presumes a sharp uptick in power sale activity during the current financial year.
