
Numaligarh Refinery re-invites bids for green hydrogen unit – EQ
In Short : Numaligarh Refinery Limited has re-invited bids to develop a 10,000-ton-per-year green hydrogen unit in Assam on a Build, Own, Operate basis. The selected firm will sign a 25-year supply deal and manage the facility’s operations. The re-tender follows revisions to the earlier bid terms. Bids are due by June 23, supporting India’s clean energy goals.
In Detail : The Numaligarh Refinery (NRL) has re-invited bids for the development and operation of a green hydrogen generation unit (GHGU) at its refinery in Numaligarh, Assam. The project will be executed on a build, own, and operate (BOO) basis, with the selected developer responsible for supplying gaseous green hydrogen (GGH) to the refinery.
The re-tendering process was initiated due to changes in the bill of quantities (BOQ) and various terms and conditions from the original tender floated on 16 August, 2024.
The scope of work includes the design, detailed engineering, and construction of all civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation facilities. It also covers testing, commissioning, and operations and maintenance of the GHGU, along with all required utilities.
The GHGU will have an installed capacity of 10,000 tpa. The selected developer will be required to sign a Green Hydrogen Purchase Agreement (GHPA) and supply GGH for a period of 25 years.
