Maithon Power Limited (MPL), a 74:26 joint venture with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), has been bestowed with Central Board for Irrigation & Power (CBIP) Award 2018 for Best Performing Utility in Thermal Power Sector.

The award was handed over to the , chief executive officer MPL Purushottam Thakur, CEO, MPL on CBIP Day at the SCOPE Convention Centre, New Delhi. Raj Kumar Singh, Minister of State (I/C) for Power and New & Renewable Energy along with Arjun Ram Meghwal and Dr. Satya Pal Singh, Ministers of State, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation. MPL is conferred upon with the award for its outstanding contribution to the nation by setting new benchmark in generation & maintenance practices, excellence in Engineering and use of latest state of art technologies and smart solutions.
