India had 5,248 MW of installed grid-connected solar capacity as of Jan. 31, 2016, according to the latest data from India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). At the end of March 2015, the country had PV systems totaling 3,744 connected to its electricity system. PV installations with a combined capacity of 1,504 MW were installed in the country in the first ten months of fiscal year 2015-16, which started on Apr. 1, 2015.
