Power generation and infrastructure boost French Engie’s H1 results

Engie said first-half net profit rose 3.5 percent to 1.2 billion euros ($1.40 billion) as the French gas and power group’s renewable and thermal power generation, infrastructure and energy services all reported strong growth.
First-half revenue rose 1.6 percent to 32.6 billion euros, as core earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell 0.1 percent to 5 billion euros, although that figure was up 4 percent on an organic basis.
Net recurring income rose 4.2 percent to 1.5 billion euros and the company confirmed its guidance for net recurring income of 2.4-2.6 billion billion euros, expected at mid-range.
